Don't think it applies to anyone who's commented so far but note that this can happen if you've copied node_modules without preserving symlinks

Enable debug logging in SickChill settings 

SickChill Fresh install of SickChill will not start

I was getting the same error and pip was already up to date
Fixed it by manually upgrading imdbpy using
pip install --upgrade git+https://github.com/alberanid/imdbpy#egg=imdbpy
