OK it was due to docker run permission issue need a --privileged flag Unrelated to s3fs itself Sorry. 

s3fs fuse fuse: device not found, try 'modprobe fuse' first

For those who are encountering this issue try adding -o auto_xattr It did the trick for me Someone should probably update the wiki to include this

Looks like we loose auth data following redirects Adding url param like -o url=https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com fixes the problem.

I had to explicitly provide url and endpoint to make it work when calling s3fs E.g for region eu-central-1 

s3fs fuse Transport endpoint is not connected

@ctp2nd I cannot stress enough that this is a really bad idea The FUSE kernel extension needs to be patched for almost every new release of macOS
