Hi I solved the same issue  by setting  multiDexEnabled true in /android/app/build.gradle
like:
android {
compileSdkVersion rootProject.ext.compileSdkVersion


}

Android Iconics Execution failed for task ':app:mergeExtDexDebug'.

Same issue here It looks like the library vanished from the repository 🤔
In the meantime you can add this repository as a workaround:

FYI...I am using API 26.0.2 and in my case the crash was happening because of custom animations set for my fragments
